Lately, I’ve been really trying to focus on promoting sustainability and mindfulness through my blogs. I’ve been blessed with a successful first half of the year and I like using this growing outlet (blog) to spread my love of spreading light. As much as I like knowing that what I’m doing is making a difference, I also want to highlight those around me who are doing their part.
I would be remiss if I didn’t showcase my partner in all this; by partner I mean my shipping partner. Since the beginning of 2014 I’ve depended on Build Industries
to safely deliver my hand-painted Mood-Lights to you. Located in Los Angeles, Build Industries warehouse most of my painted lights and ship my online orders for me so that they arrive more quickly than even I would be able to ship them (I’m always traveling). However… they really do so much more.
Build Industries is known by so many as the organization “with a heart.” Build is a nonprofit company that supports adults with developmental disabilities. Over the past four decades, more than 8000 adults with disabilities have been set on the path to greater independence and a better way of life through participation in the various programs Build has developed to meet the needs of developmentally disabled adults. It just doesn’t get any better than this.
When I heard about Build it was so important for me to become involved with their mission. They donate a percentage of profits to assist individuals with disabilities and other barriers to achieve their highest potential by providing a variety of rehabilitation and employment services to enhance their quality of life, independence and vocational growth. They’ve even come up with a Good Samaritan Kit
to give a person in need the chance to better care for themselves while also providing them with the comfort of knowing they are not forgotten.
When you order from Mood-Lights, you not only ordering art that I’ve created from reused, repurposed materials, and you’re not just supporting small business… you’re contributing to Build Industries and to their bold, empowered movement. You’re being socially conscious and enabling me to do the same. So, thank you for your support and a huge thanks to Build Industries for making my job easier, allowing me to feed my traveling addiction and for making the world a better place by spreading more light.
